DARREN BENT TO LEAGUE 1?
Darren Bent is 39 and has been retired since 2018. His last team: Burton Albion.
On TalkSport, he was asked if he would consider an āAndros Townsend style 3-month dealā for a lower league club.
His response:
āYeah probably [I would consider going back to playing] just to go back and score a few goals ā¦.ā
āIām fit as in gym work but there is nothing like running on a football pitchā
Not sure why we have used his mastermind snapshotā¦. but it felt like the right thing to do?
Weāre also not sure why he ever featured on mastermind.
This led us to thinking:
What is the longest gap between a player retiring then coming back?
Who is the oldest player to ever come out of retirement?
Would a 39 year old be able to hack it in League 1 or 2 after being out for 5 years?
