The Telegraph

Wolves are set to avoid FFP punishment after their Ā£140 million summer sale of players. If the club had failed to raise around Ā£90 million, Wolves could have faced serious financial pressures.

Calciomercato (Spain)

Arsenal has added Real Sociedadā€™s midfielder Martin Zubimendi and Real Madridā€™s midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni to its list of transfer targets.

Liverpool will not sell Mohamed Salah in January regardless of any offers from the Saudi Pro League.

DODGY DEALS šŸ„·

There are three certainties in life.

  • Death.

  • Taxes.

  • Chelsea breaking transfer rules.

It has only been three years since Chelseaā€™s two-window transfer ban ended, but they might be on the brink of anotherā€¦

The Premier League is now investigating transfer dealings during the Roman Abramovich era.

The investigation is looking at secret payments made by the club when they signed Willian and Samuel Etoā€™o.

If found guilty of incomplete financial reporting, the club could face a points deductionā€¦

So what really happened?

1/ The transfers of Willian and Etoā€™o were shady at best

Willian joined Chelsea in a Ā£30m deal from Russian team Anzi Makhachkalaā€¦ but was nailed on to join Spurs just before signing.

Etoā€™o took a Ā£10m pay cut to be part of Jose Mourinhoā€™s side.

Something didnā€™t add upā€¦

2/ The financial records donā€™t add upā€¦

The financial records apparently show transfer payments being made by Chelsea.

Thatā€™s fineā€¦ until the records show further payments that were allegedly sent to so-called ā€˜Russian entitiesā€™.

It doesn't take a genius to realise somethingā€™s up.

And thatā€™s why Todd Boehly proactively self-reported Chelsea to all applicable football regulators.

As these allegations pre-date the clubā€™s current ownership, it makes it more complicated.

How will the regulators penalise owners who no longer run the club?

Itā€™s yet to be clearā€¦

TRAINING GROUND BUST-UPS AND TEARS AT CHELSEA šŸ˜¬

No one at Route One HQ thought that Samuel Etoā€™o would be mentioned TWICE in todayā€™s newsletter.

But, here goesā€¦

In case you didnā€™t know, Kevin De Bruyne and Mo Salah had spells at Chelsea earlier in their career.

While theyā€™re now amongst the best to ever play in the league, they both failed to make their mark for The Blues.

And we finally have an explanationā€¦

This week, former Chelsea defender John Terry revealed all on John Obi Mikelā€™s podcast.

Terry said that:

  • De Bruyne was a ā€˜bad trainerā€™ during his 18 months at the club.

  • He was ā€˜always angry and sulkingā€™ because he wasn't getting enough game time.

  • The Belgium midfielder had a fight with team-mate Samuel Etoā€™o on the training ground - after the latter was annoyed with his low standards.

  • Mo Salah was brought to tears by Jose Mourinho during a half-time team talk.

While this is all very interesting, thereā€™s just one thing we canā€™t wrap our heads aroundā€¦

Who knew that John Obi-Mikel had a podcast?

EXTRA-TIME ā±ļø

Yeovil Town is having a season to remember. Currently in the sixth tier of English football, Yeovil Town is unbeaten at home, has won ten games in a row and has made it to the FA Cup 1st Round. šŸ‘šŸ¼

Dorking Wanderers manager Marc White gives an inspiring pep-talk (explicit language). Well, thatā€™s one way to put it. The non-league manager has zero tolerance for players who arenā€™t tactically astuteā€¦

Did you know that Mo Salah is actually from Belfast? OK, maybe heā€™s not. But this short clip had us in pieces. šŸ˜‚

Former City captain Ilkay Gundogan keeps it real. He demanded more emotion from his Barcelona teammates after the clubā€™s El Clasico loss.

City fan Noel Gallagher kicks the Man United team while itā€™s down. He said that Antony is a ā€˜moronā€™, Fernandes is ā€˜annoyingā€™ and ā€˜not even that goodā€™, and Manchester United are close to being a mid-table team. Derby bragging rights are in full swing.
