What Route One actually is.

You might’ve already guessed… but our aim is to give you a dose of football news and laughs in 5 mins. Oh, and a sprinkle of FPL insight.

Each day, we sift through the sea of noise and curate the news and insights that you need to know. That’s it.

We were bored of boring reporting by The Athletic and BBC… we felt it was about time to freshen football news. Voilà… Route One.

Look, no one had a good Gameweek. Let’s put that behind us and look ahead to GW6…

👀 Is Salah really essential?

It’s rarely ever “essential” to get a player in… (except of course if it’s The Robot).

But this might the exception to the exception…

Salah is the only player to have returned in every single league match so far.

If that’s not enough to convince you, we’ve summarised Fantasy Football Hub’s analysis of Salah…

• Liverpool face West Ham, who have conceded 7 goals with an xGC of 11.4 (seventeenth in the league)

• Liverpool are 3rd favourite to score 2.5+ goals in GW6 (Salah being the second favourite to score at anytime)

• Salah’s chance creation has been higher than last season - so he’s like a long-term purchase

To sum up… find a way to get Salah into you team.

Tripping up?

A Newcastle transfer is a no-brainer this week. Their run of fixtures is simply too juicy to ignore.

Trippier (£6.5m) is now a great option. His xA + xPts are still low but that’s only because of the difficult fixtures at the start of the season.

He’s likely to get some attacking returns now that he’ll have more attacking freedom.

Clean sheets are on the cards…

Feeling stingy? Schar (£5.0m) is also a good shout at a much cheaper price.

GW6 Differential?

Odsonne Edouard (£5.6m) is owned by just 4.2% of managers.

He’s got great underlying stats & Palace continue to be heavily reliant on Edouard for attacking returns.

4 goals in 5 can’t go unnoticed…

Palace’s play Fulham who have looked solid defensively but, so far, they have been lucky not to have conceded based on the difference between their xGC and goals conceded.
